It's a.......

BOY!!!!
Yep, we found out today that we are having a boy. I have thought boy all along, but never wanted to say it out loud (didn't want to jinx myself). This pregnancy has just been completely different than my other two. We are so excited!!

Happy Anniversary!!

I wanted to say Happy Anniversay to Richard today!! 7 years and 2 1/2 kids later, who would have thought I'd love him even more than the day we got married? Oops, did I let that slip? We are excited to announce that we are expecting baby #3 in April 2010. Woo Hoo!!!

Back to School...and BIG news!

Taylee went back to school last week. This year was so easy- she already knew what to expect and just hopped out of the car and took off. She loves pre-school!! The poor girl had her first day of school, first day of dance class, and first soccer practice all on the same day! She was exhausted, but had a blast. Unfortunately, it looks like Wednesday will be a very busy day for us for the next 6 weeks!!With her school name tag:

She got the show and tell bucket the very first day. So she wanted her picture taken with the bucket, and this is the first pose I get. Where did this girl come from?

And now for some big news...I got a job! WHAT?! I was not looking for a job, nor did I want one. However, I had this opportunity just fall into my lap. There is a new charter school that is completely online called Open High School of Utah. They were in need of a School Counselor, but only 12 hours a week. The kicker is, it's from home!! I do the job on my computer. My boss does not care when I do my hours as long as my work gets done. So I can do it late at night after the girls are asleep, or during pre-school when Kira is napping. Anyway, my license had expired because I have been out of the schools for 4 years, but they are willing to work with me and I will be able to renew my license this year while I am working. Totally random and crazy, but I am kind of excited!!

Johnson Family Cousins

Every year, my mom has pictures taken of all of her grandchildren together. These were taken back at the end of June, but I just got them. The lady was nice enough to snap a few individuals of my girls and some of them together. Kira was NOT cooperative that day, so I was actually pleased with what we got, knowing how naughty she was!

Mini Cheerleader

Taylee went to the Mini Cheerleading Clinic at Weber High last week with her two cousins, Lauren and Lexie. She learned a dance and 3 cheers, and even got to perform at halftime of the football game on Friday night. She had a blast and did a great job, too! I can't believe I was encouraging her to yell "Go Warriors!"

Johnson Family Reunion!

If it's August, and it's the Balloon Festival...then it is time for the Johnson Family Reunion. We get together for a weekend every year in August up at the Lodge in Eden. Unfortunately, the hot air balloons were unable to launch due to bad weather. But we had plenty of other activities planned. The kids got lots of bike-riding in:Look Ma, no hands! This year we started the 1st Annual Johnson Family Talent Show. It was a riot. My girls wanted to sing and dance to Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me". Well, really it was Taylee- of course Kira just goes along with it. For those who know the lyrics- can you tell Taylee is in a t-shirt and sneakers, and Kira is the cheer captain with high heels?Anyone ever been on a snipe hunt? Or better yet, with my dad leading you? Good times! Taylee was the best snipe hunter around!! "Sniiiiiiipe!" (Grandpa made all the kids wear crazy hats).Hot-tubbing at the Lodge:We even had time for some 4-WheelingKira didn't get to wear this hat during the Snipe Hunt, so she took advantage the next day!
Thanks Mom & Dad for another fun reunion! We look forward to it every year!!

I get knocked down..

...but I get up again!! The last night we were in Oregon my poor little Kira tripped on a rug and landed face first (or should I say eye first) into the edge of a glass coffee table. It immediately started to swell. Here it is right after it happened (well, after she stopped crying):Later that same night, it was starting to swell quite a bit:The next morning Richard flipped when he went to get her out of her crib! By the way, this is what she looked like as we drove home. I'm pretty sure there are some gas stations out there that think we are child abusers!By the next day the swelling had gone down, but the black eye had appeared. This picture does not even do it justice. She now looks like she put purple eye shadow above and below her eye. She is such a trooper!!
